class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Walter Stanoski Winter (19. Juni 1919 - 19. November 2012) wuchs mit acht Geschwistern in einer reisenden Familie auf. Er besuchte die Volksschule in Oldenburg. Im Alter von elf Jahren schloss er sich den ganzj\u00e4hrig reisenden Eltern an und besuchte die Schule dort, wo sich die Familie gerade aufhielt. Ab 1938 musste er Arbeitsdienst leisten, bis er und sein Bruder Erich im Januar 1940 zur Wehrmacht einberufen wurden. Walter Winter hatte den Rang eines Unteroffiziers bei der Marine in Wilhelmshaven inne. Als Sinto wurde er aus \"rassischen Gr\u00fcnden\" nicht bef\u00f6rdert und wurde 1942 aus der Wehrmacht entlassen und kehrte nach Oldenburg zur\u00fcck. Im M\u00e4rz 1943 wurden Walter Winter, sein Bruder Erich und seine Schwester Maria in das Vernichtungslager Auschwitz-Birkenau deportiert. Dort lernte er seine erste Frau, Bluma Schubert, kennen. Walter Winter nahm am 16. Mai 1944 am Aufstand im \"Zigeunerlager\" in Auschwitz-Birkenau teil. Winter, seine Geschwister und seine Frau wurden am 31. Juli 1944 in das KZ Ravensbr\u00fcck gebracht. Kurz vor Kriegsende wurden er und sein Bruder ins KZ Sachsenhausen verlegt und von dort aufgrund ihrer milit\u00e4rischen Erfahrung wieder an die Front versetzt. Walter Winter wurde verwundet, aber er und sein Bruder \u00fcberlebten den Krieg. Seine Frau Bluma kam kurz vor Kriegsende im KZ Ravensbr\u00fcck ums
