class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Als Holocaust-\u00dcberlebender engagierte sich Max Lauenburger zeitlebens in der Erinnerungsarbeit und kl\u00e4rte die j\u00fcngere Generation der Sinti und Roma als Zeitzeuge insbesondere \u00fcber die Verfolgung der Minderheit im Nationalsozialismus auf. Seit vielen Jahren begleitet er die Delegationen des Zentralrats zur internationalen Gedenkveranstaltung am 2. August in Auschwitz-Birkenau und stand mehrfach als Gespr\u00e4chspartner f\u00fcr Jugendliche in der Internationalen Jugendbegegnungsst\u00e4tte Auschwitz zur Verf\u00fcgung.<\/p><p>Geboren am 24. November 1925 im brandenburgischen Blumberg, musste Max Lauenburger schon in jungen Jahren Ausgrenzung und Diskriminierung erfahren. Nachdem sein Vater von der Gestapo im KZ Dachau inhaftiert wurde, floh seine Mutter 1938 mit dem damals 13-j\u00e4hrigen Max Lauenburger und seinen neun Geschwistern nach Oberschlesien. Dort wurde die Familie entdeckt und Max Lauenburger und seine j\u00fcngeren Geschwister kamen in ein Waisenhaus in Schwarnewanz bei Oppeln. Nach seiner Entlassung im Alter von 14 Jahren musste er Zwangsarbeit in der Landwirtschaft leisten. Im Februar 1943 in Dresden verhaftet, wurde er im M\u00e4rz desselben Jahres mit anderen Familienmitgliedern in das Konzentrations- und Vernichtungslager Auschwitz-Birkenau deportiert. In der Nacht vom 2. auf den 3. August 1944 wurden etwa 4.300 Sinti und Roma in den Gaskammern ermordet, darunter auch seine Mutter und sieben seiner Geschwister. Max Lauenburger hat \u00fcberlebt, weil er nach Selektionen durch die SS als \"arbeitsf\u00e4hig\" eingestuft wurde und im April 1944 nach Buchenwald und kurz darauf nach Mittelbau-Dora verlegt wurde. Im Mai 1945 wurde er von britischen Truppen in Bergen-Belsen befreit. Am 28. Juni 2020 starb Max Lauenburger im Alter von 95 Jahren in Ingolstadt.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<div
